Weather and raids
Best Weather for Rayquaza in Pokémon GO
Look for Windy weather. Rayquaza is Dragon and Flying type, and both types match the same Pokémon GO weather category.
Find a possible Windy window
- Start a Rayquaza search and choose Now to compare current estimates.
- For a later raid, choose 24h and compare the estimated matching windows for each city.
- Check that the raid is available and that Pokémon GO shows Windy when you intend to play. A forecast is not a guarantee.
Rayquaza or Mega Rayquaza?
The search distinguishes Rayquaza and Mega Rayquaza when the latter appears in suggestions. According to game support, a Mega Raid Boss returns to its regular form before the catch encounter. Check the actual Pokémon and in-game weather instead of assuming the encounter from the boss’s form alone.
What weather boost does not promise
A weather boost does not guarantee a successful catch or perfect IVs. It also does not establish that a Rayquaza raid is available in a particular city: check the raid independently.
