Raids

Using weather boosts for Pokémon GO raids

Weather boosts can make raids more interesting. When a raid boss is boosted by the active in-game weather, the captured Pokémon can be at a higher level. This can reduce the Stardust and Candy needed to power it up later.

For example, a Water-type boss is linked to rainy weather. A Dragon or Flying boss is linked to windy weather. A Ground, Fire, or Grass Pokémon can be linked to clear or sunny weather.

Why check before raiding?

If you can choose between several areas, checking the likely weather can help you decide where to raid. This is especially useful for highly valuable legendaries and Mega raids.

Limitations

Weather does not replace good IVs, movesets, or raid availability. PogoWeather provides an estimate, so always confirm the weather icon directly in Pokémon GO when possible.
